Position Summary
Aeon is seeking an exceptional nonprofit leader committed to working in and with supportive housing communities. This culturally competent professional will be a key member of Aeon's team, serving as a cross-functional leader within Property Operations and Resident Services. The Supportive Housing Program Director or Senior Director will uphold high standards of excellence through strong resident relationships, resourceful management, intentional staff mentorship, and dedication to Aeon's mission and values. The Supportive Housing Program Director or Senior Director reports to the Chief Real Estate Officer.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Leadership & Management
- Lead, develop, and manage site supervisors across multiple supportive housing properties.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity among staff and residents.
- Regular engagement with senior Property Operations leadership to maintain best in class property performance.
Program Development
- Maintain strong working relationships with Aeon management peers and internal teams.
- Engage regularly with senior Property Operations and Asset Management leadership to align goals and initiatives.
- Build and nurture partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance program delivery and impact.
Operational Excellence
- Implement, evaluate, and continually improve practices for efficient and effective financial operations.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance resident services and program offerings.
- Monitor and report on program outcomes and impact, ensuring alignment with Aeon's mission and values.
Housing Development and Policy Impact
- Work with the Housing Development team to determine priorities for funding and underwriting supportive housing development.
- Work closely with the Director of Service Partnerships to resolve funding issues from housing support and other state and federal sources.
- Inform policy discussions on Aeon's experience with developing, owning and managing supportive housing.
- Understand and troubleshoot issues with state housing support funding structures to support residents and new development.
Skills & Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a track record of building strong, mutually beneficial relationships and achieving results through empowering and effectively supporting people and teams. The candidate will also possess proven success with leading, supervising and mentoring staff as well as excellent interpersonal, management, and conflict resolution skills. They should be a resourceful problem solver with attention to detail and a seeker of excellence who values results, hard work, customer service and teamwork. Above all, the candidate must have a strong belief in the mission and values of Aeon and in the people and neighborhoods it serves.
In addition, we are looking to identify the following:
- Experience working with supportive housing programs or with homeless service delivery systems.
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience in project management as a senior level manager or director.
- Working knowledge of federally and/or state assisted housing regulations and supportive housing programs.
- Proven success in staff development, leadership and mentoring.
- Candidate must possess proven abilities in broad financial analysis, budgeting and reforecasting with attention-to-detail and follow-through.
- Must excel in interpersonal interactions in a manner that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations of residents, staff, vendors, community members, etc.
- Results-oriented with demonstrated success balancing all business considerations.
- Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's inclusion and belonging initiatives.
- Must have valid driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to complete tours between properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, hallways, stairwells, and apartment homes.
- Ability to file, open and close file drawers, and enter data into a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to withstand external weather conditions.
Compensation & Location
We are open to considering candidates for either the Director or Senior Director level. In line with the range in qualification consideration, this position will compensate at either a range of $80k-$110k for the Director role or $100k-$130k for the Senior Director role. This position requires regular on-site work at Aeon properties throughout the Twin Cities. When not on-site, this position will office mostly out of Aeon's Central Office in the North Loop of Minneapolis with most in-office days occurring on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This position may office remotely from time-to-time. When working remotely, the candidate is required to travel to and from Aeon properties for urgent or unplanned matters and for regularly planned on-site visits, trainings, and meetings. As such, candidates must either currently reside in and around the Twin Cities metro area, or plan to relocate prior to a start date with Aeon.
